Forbes Homestead and Pioneer Hospital

Step back in time at the Forbes Homestead, one of Grande Prairie’s oldest standing log buildings and a registered Provincial Heritage Site since 1976. The homestead features the original log hospital, built in 1911, alongside the Forbes Residence, added in 1912. Together, they tell the story of the community’s early years and the people who helped shape it. Visitors can enjoy free admission, with donations gratefully accepted to support preservation of the site. An onsite Heritage Interpreter offers engaging guided tours, or guests can choose to explore at their own pace, making the Forbes Homestead a meaningful stop for history lovers of all ages.
