Foote Field, located on the University of Alberta’s South Campus, is a multi-use sports training and competition facility designed for football, track and field, and soccer. Foote Field is the home of the University of Alberta’s high-performance sports teams, the Golden Bears and Pandas, in track and field, football, soccer, and rugby. The facility plays host to regional, provincial, national, and international sports organizations and competitions in addition to grassroots community programming. The facility features a four-lane 140-meter sprint track and an eight-lane 400-meter track surface; pole vault and high jump areas; throwing areas for javelin, shot put, hammer throw, and discus; an artificial turf field with seating for 3,500 (the field is enclosed by an air-supported dome from December through April); sand-based natural grass field with seating for 1,500 and four natural grass fields for rugby, soccer or football.
