Fahr Brewing in Diamond Valley crafts authentic German-style beer, giving travellers a taste of centuries-old brewing tradition in Alberta. Its award-winning beers follow German Purity Laws and focus on a back-to-basics approach to craft brewing—what the brewery calls “beer-flavoured” beer. More than 500 years of tradition meet locally crafted Alberta beer in every recipe. Founder Jochen Fahr grew up in Ebringen, Germany, where his passion began while his father worked at the nearby Fürstenberg Brewery. Years later in Calgary, that early connection to brewing met an appreciation for local farming, inspiring authentic German beer made for Canadian drinkers.
