Etherington Equestrian Campground

Tucked into the tranquil forest of the Highwood Valley, Etherington Creek Equestrian Campground offers a peaceful equestrian retreat about 45 km southwest of Longview via Highway 541 and 7 km south on Forestry Trunk Road. Open seasonally from mid‑May to mid‑September, this quiet campground provides 11 spacious, unserviced, first‑come, first‑served sites tailored for riders bringing their own horse; the nightly fee covers one horse, with a modest additional charge for each extra horse. Practical amenities include firepits, pit or vault toilets, a hand‑pump water source, hitching rails, corrals, and a loading ramp, plus firewood available for purchase on‑site. While potable water isn’t guaranteed, nearby trails offer excellent opportunities for horseback riding or hiking, making this a perfect base for equestrian exploration in serene mountain surroundings.
