A place to learn about the complex biodiversity found in Central Alberta and to relax in a beautiful natural outdoor setting, Ellis Nature Centre is a unique non-profit organization located in rural Central Alberta. It is open to the public throughout the summer months (Victoria Day in May until Labour Day in September), is free to visit (donations are welcomed) and offers a variety of events for all ages. Ellis Nature Centre is a working farm and showcases how the agriculture industry can coexist with wildlife conservation. The working farm continues Charlie Ellis’ conservation practices of delayed haying, preserving areas for wildlife and of course, the bluebird trail nest boxes. Ellis Nature Centre also provides a multi-faceted educational program relating to nature in Aspen Parkland. This includes school programs, staff-guided and self-guided tours, demonstration gardens, nature festivals, and workshops on a variety of topics. Visit their website for updates and details.
