Cross Lake Provincial Park Campground

Cross Lake Provincial Park, surrounding Steele Lake in north-central Alberta, is a scenic, family-friendly destination offering a mix of lakeside relaxation and forested recreation. Open mid-May to early September, the main campground features 130 powered sites (15/30 amp), with options for accessible camping. Visitors enjoy flush and vault toilets, showers, water taps, firepits, firewood for sale, a boat launch, fish-cleaning stations, a playground, picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, and a large sandy beach perfect for swimming and sandcastles. For a quieter experience, George’s Point offers a hike-in or boat-access tenting area with just seven basic sites, lake views, and a peaceful atmosphere. Recreational options include hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, water-skiing, power boating (speed limits apply), and birdwatching. In winter, enjoy cross-country skiing and ice fishing. Cross Lake is the ideal escape for nature lovers of all kinds.
