Crooked Creek Campground is a great option for those who want to explore Waterton Lakes National Park. It’s far from the crowds but only 6 km (4 mi) west of the Waterton gates. Crooked Creek offers 79 serviced sites (30 and 50 amp) and 28 unserviced tenting sites. Some tenting sites require you to park nearby and walk in, but wagons are available to transport your gear. The gated campground has washrooms, showers, a laundromat and a sewage dump. There is also a cook shack with power, lights and a wood stove. No outside firewood is allowed. You can buy firewood at the on-site store, which also sells camping staples. Campers can explore Crooked Creek, which offers wildlife viewing and birdwatching opportunities. Of course, campers can also venture into Waterton Lakes National Park. They can enjoy all the hiking, fishing, paddling and golf on offer. Crooked Creek Campground is open from May 1 to September 30.
