Coronation Dam Campground

Coronation Dam Campground is aptly named. The campground sits alongside the Coronation Dam in east-central Alberta, about 200 km (125 mi) east of Red Deer. The 50 sites (serviced and unserviced) accommodate tents and RVs. The campground also boasts many amenities, including modern washrooms, showers, a camp kitchen and a playground. There’s also a boat launch to make life easier for the anglers who come to the area year-round. The body of water created by the dam is stocked with trout and walleye and has long been a popular spot for fishing. The campground is open from May 1 to September 30. Campers can also take advantage of everything the hamlet of Coronation has to offer. It has an outdoor pool, and the campground has swim passes for its guests. Coronation also has shops and restaurants for those who want to treat themselves to a meal. There’s even an annual rodeo in early September.
