Class Clown Hamburgers is a retro-inspired burger joint in Calgary’s Mission neighbourhood, known for its nostalgic 1970s décor and crave-worthy smash burgers. Located at 1711 4 St SW, it features wood-paneled walls, vintage arcade games, and a cozy, basement-bar vibe. The focused menu highlights Alberta AAA chuck and brisket, ground daily, with standout options like the California Classic, Donald McRonald, and Winnipeg Fat Boy. Creative chicken and fish sandwiches, including the spicy Szechuwannabe and Nashville Hot Cod, add fun variety. Loaded crinkle-cut fries and soft-serve sundaes round out the comfort food offerings, while a drink menu of natural wines, craft beers, and ciders adds a modern twist. The restaurant is gluten-free friendly, with a dedicated fryer and careful preparation. Featured in Avenue Calgary’s Best New Restaurants, Class Clown has become a local favourite. Walk-ins are welcome, but joining the online waitlist is recommended.
