Chain Lakes Provincial Park

Chain Lakes Provincial Park, located near Nanton in the Southern Rockies, offers lakeside camping and water activities with big-sky mountain views. Set in the Willow Creek valley between the Porcupine Hills and the Rocky Mountains, this park centres around a reservoir created in 1967 to support local agriculture. Today, its calm waters and open shoreline make it a relaxed spot to fish, paddle, sail or powerboat, with plenty of room to spread out along the beach. Wildlife is part of the experience here, with opportunities to spot pelicans gliding over the lake and moose along the valley. In summer, visitors can combine time on the water with camping under dark prairie skies, soaking up a quiet, wide-open side of Alberta’s Southern Rockies.
