Cavan Lake Recreational Campground

It’s an artificial body of water, but Cavan Lake offers real fun. Cavan Lake Recreational Campground is the ideal base for adventurers. The lake is stocked with fish, so anglers can try to outwit the rainbow trout, while paddlers and boaters can explore the waters formed by the Cavan Dam. After fun on the water, campers can enjoy horseshoe pits and a playground. A walking loop beside the lake runs for just over a kilometre (about half a mile) for those who want to take a relaxing stroll. The campground is 23 km (14 mi) southeast of Medicine Hat and offers 78 sites (60 with power) for RVs and tents. All sites have fire pits and free firewood is available. The water onsite is not suitable for drinking, so be sure to bring your own.
