Bourgeau Lake

Loading...

Bourgeau Lake, near the Trans-Canada Highway in the Canadian Rockies, offers a steady forest climb to a glacial lake with rewarding mountain views. The trail winds through lush forest and crosses clear mountain streams before reaching Bourgeau Lake, which sits in a dramatic, glacially carved amphitheatre. From the lakeshore, hikers can continue on a more difficult 2.2 km trail to Harvey Pass, where expansive views stretch to snowcapped peaks along the Continental Divide. Parking is limited at the Bourgeau Lake parking area, so travellers are encouraged to carpool when possible and plan to arrive early to secure a spot and make the most of their day on the trail.
