Bistro Praha

Bistro Praha in Edmonton serves authentic Czech and European dishes in a warm setting where every guest is welcomed like an old friend. Its story began with original owner Frantisek Cikanek, who dreamed of enjoying classical music and the familiar Czech delicacies he knew from restaurants in Prague. When he could not find that experience in Edmonton, he created it himself. More than 40 years later, the restaurant remains a fixture of the city’s dining scene. Guests can settle in over authentic goulash, cabbage soup, wiener schnitzel and a range of European-style dishes. Kirk Douglas and Joni Mitchell are among the notable guests who have dined here, but every visitor can expect the same warm, valued welcome.
