Battle River Pioneer Museum

Battle River Pioneer Museum in Manning offers a family-friendly heritage museum experience with rare wildlife displays and hands-on agricultural history. Set just east of town, this museum features a main building, log cabin, post office, Anglican church, blacksmith shop, machine sheds and a windmill. Visitors can explore more than 10,000 artifacts, including a full-mount albino moose, timber wolf, cougar, grizzly bear, albino porcupine, buffalo calf, a two-headed calf and numerous birds. Agricultural equipment, tools, clothing, toys and household items bring pioneer life into focus. On the Sunday of Heritage Day weekend, guests can enjoy an antique tractor parade, pancake breakfast, food booth, threshing demonstration and rope making. The museum is open daily from May 15 to September 15, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with off-season access by phone.
