Art Gallery of Alberta
Art Gallery of Alberta in downtown Edmonton presents Canadian and international art, inviting visitors to discover new perspectives. Its collection spans more than 6,000 works, with a strong focus on Canadian art. Significant works by Alberta and Indigenous artists, including Alex Janvier, Jane Ash Poitras and George Littlechild, appear alongside historical and contemporary art, photography and sculpture. Designed by architect Randall Stout, the building reflects Edmonton’s northern environment, urban grid, North Saskatchewan River and Aurora Borealis. A sweeping 190-metre steel ribbon and angular windows shape a distinctive downtown landmark around the gallery’s exhibitions.
