Archie and Janet Hogg Park

Archie and Janet Hogg Park is between the unmistakable cowboy stylings of Longview and the vibrant town of High River. Drive 27 km (17 mi) west and south from town to the heart of the valley. You'll find exquisite mountain views, plenty of plant and animal life and the renowned trout habitat in the Highwood River. Come for the day, or bring the family for a rustic camping adventure. There are 40 campsites, each with a picnic bench and fire pit. You can bring your pets, too, as long as you keep them on a leash. The park is named after homesteaders Archie and Janet Hogg. Archie came from Scotland in 1904 and established his grain farm in 1927. Together, he and Janet created a private waterfowl refuge on their land, and they donated the land to the Foothills Municipal District in 1981.
