Apollonia Honey Wines & Liqueurs in Calgary crafts honey wine and spirits, giving visitors a taste inspired by Alberta honey. Founders Dritan and Albana Qose brought their Albanian roots and years of life in Calgary to a beekeeping hobby sparked by a visit to a local farm and meadery. Fascinated by Alberta’s abundant, high-quality honey, they began experimenting at home and soon shared their first bottles of honey wine with friends and family. Encouragement led them to enter local hobby mead competitions, where their creations earned top prizes. Years of trial and error helped shape flavours unlike the options they had found elsewhere. In 2019, that curiosity, persistence and appreciation for Alberta honey grew into a local wine and spirits business.
