Workshop - Making Mini Moccasins

Workshop - Making Mini Moccasins, located in Banff in the Canadian Rockies, offers a hands-on moccasin-making workshop that connects travellers with Indigenous artistry. Guided by Indigenous Knowledge Keepers and artists Elder Ekti Margaret Cardinal and MJ Belcourt, participants learn to create small, smoked, native-tanned deer-hide moccasins with optional embellishments. These mini moccasins are made with intention for safe travels, offerings and prayer, adding meaning to the creative process. Kits are provided and registration is required, with supplies available for only eight participants to keep the experience intimate. The workshop is open to all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience, welcoming anyone curious about National Indigenous History Month and Îethka Mâkochî Ahogi Chi Pa Bi Ti.
