The Cirque Backpacking Trip

The Cirque Backpacking Trip, located in Crowsnest Pass in Alberta’s Southern Rockies, offers an intermediate to advanced backpacking adventure with big-mountain views. Travellers spend the first night in an awe-inspiring cirque, a dramatic bowl-shaped basin carved over thousands of years by ancient glaciers. Steep rock walls and a rounded basin create an amphitheatre-like setting that highlights the power of ice and time. From there, the route makes a circle around tall peaks, revealing some of the area’s most spectacular vistas. Daily distances are planned to allow time to relax at camp, and while there are steeper, more challenging sections, the overall pace is relatively relaxed compared to many other backpacking trips.
