Summer Writers Readings - Chapter 1
Experience an inspiring evening of poetry and prose at Literary Cabaret, part of the Summer Writers residency at Banff Centre. Over three nights, audiences are invited to intimate readings by emerging writers and faculty mentors. This event is hosted by Douglas Kearney, acclaimed poet, performer, and librettist. Kearney is the author of eight books, including Optic Subwoof, winner of the Pegasus Prize for Poetry Criticism and the CLMP Firecracker Award. His collection Sho received the Griffin Poetry Prize and the Minnesota Book Award. Guests can enjoy a drink from the bar, browse books from Pages, and soak in the creative energy. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., with readings at 7:00 p.m. The evening concludes with a casual reception until 9:30 p.m. A must for anyone passionate about the literary arts.
