Summer Skirmish 2025

Calgary’s largest annual historical re-enactment festival returns with Summer Skirmish, a weekend-long event that brings over 2,000 years of military history to life. Hosted at The Military Museums, witness dramatic live-action performances featuring Viking raids, medieval duels, jousting, musketry skills, cannonades and more. Re-enactment groups include Dragon’s Own, Sons of Fenrir etc. Taking place across the museum grounds, this family-friendly event invites guests to witness the evolution of warfare through thrilling displays by costumed reenactors, complete with swords, shields, muskets, cannons, and even tanks. Attendees can also interact with living history camps, explore historical artifacts, and enjoy hands-on activities throughout the day. With food trucks, photo ops, and something to see at every corner, Summer Skirmish offers a dynamic and engaging experience for history buffs, families, and curious minds alike.
