Visit the Lebel Mansion as they share ​PIIKANIKOAN : Living Under A Blackfoot Sky- A Modern Winter Count. Curated by Ira Provost and Created by the Galt Museum and Archives in Lethbridge, Alberta. ​They invite you to join them on Saturday, September 20th, from 1 pm to 4 pm, when they will be hosting a free come-and-go social with light refreshments provided!​ This exhibition will be curated throughout the Lebel hallways and public spaces, inviting visitors to explore. Piikanikoan invites audiences to explore Blackfoot (Niitsitapi) cultural heritage through a combination of art, stories, and songs. Through the lens of his own musical journey, Piikani Nation member Ira Provost delves into the significance of Blackfoot music, its origins and its influence on his life story. This exhibition explores Ira’s biocultural heritage, education, career, culture and its place within the southern Alberta landscape through a modern Winter Count.
