Open Farm Days | Sunnyhill Alpacas/Twisted Sisters Mill

Sunnyhill Alpacas/Twisted Sisters Mill in Leduc County offers alpaca viewing and mill tours so guests can see fleece become yarn. For 28 years, this working farm has raised alpaca dams, sires and playful crias that visitors can watch racing around the pen or napping in the sun. To keep the herd calm and stress free, guests enjoy the animals from outside the fence and dogs are not permitted, as alpacas are terrified of strange dogs. Twisted Sisters Mill uses the annual shearing from Sunnyhill to create super soft, hypoallergenic alpaca yarn and roving on site. Co-owner Renee Henry leads hourly mill tours, where visitors see each step of transforming this exotic fibre into 100% local, natural products made right on the farm.
