ALCLA Native Plants in Carstairs offers native plants and seeds that help create wildlife-friendly, resilient landscapes. Visitors can explore the seed collection garden, greenhouses, and nursery on Treaty 7 Territory, seeing more than 200 species of wildflowers, grasses, and shrubs that are native to Alberta. Staff share practical tips on how to grow native plants at home and explain how these species support pollinators, birds, and other wildlife. Guests can learn about the climate-adapted, drought-tolerant nature of native plants, discover species with edible and medicinal properties, and browse the nursery to purchase pesticide-free plants and seeds on site.
