NMC Presents: Jeremy Dutcher

National Music Centre presents Jeremy Dutcher at Studio Bell in Calgary, offering an evening of boundary-crossing music honouring truth and reconciliation. JUNO Award-winning artist Jeremy Dutcher is a Two-Spirit song carrier, composer, ethnomusicologist and Wolastoqiyik member of Tobique First Nation. Dedicated to language revitalization, Dutcher performs music sung in Wolastoqey, his endangered mother tongue. His work draws on archival recordings of his ancestors, bringing their voices into conversation with classical and jazz influences. Rooted in reverence for the traditional songs of his home and shaped by the urgency of modern-day resistance, the performance invites listeners to experience music, language and living culture in a powerful new way.
