National Aviation Weekend
National Aviation Day occurs yearly on February 23, which is the anniversary of the first powered flight in Canada with the Silver Dart! It's a great way to discover the history of aviation. This event is aimed at entertaining the entire family. The Hangar Flight Museum is celebrating National Aviation Day with a full weekend of fun. (Tickets are available online and at the door.) 2026's event features: - A free coloring book with every child's admission - Tour/presentation schedule coming soon (visit their website to learn more) - See the Silver Dart up close. It's currently on the gallery floor instead of being up in the rafters. This gives a great vantage point for understanding this pivotal aircraft and its construction. It will be raised up to its usual home very soon, following this event. - Complete a themed scavenger hunt that features how early pilots were inspired by nature!
