Light Up and Celebrate the Season at the Alberta Legislature

Every December, the Legislative Assembly celebrates the holiday season with Albertans by lighting up the Legislature Grounds and featuring free festive musical performances in the beautiful Legislature rotunda and grounds. Light Up kicks off on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Queen Elizabeth II Building, and outdoor stage on the south end of Violet King Henry Plaza. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Legislative Assembly Visitor Centre open - Free family-friendly activities, musical performances and hot chocolate, with donations accepted for United Way. 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Light Up ceremony and festive musical performance on the outdoor stage on the south end of the Violet King Henry Plaza. Come join them for the countdown and light up of the majestic Legislature grounds, including the big Christmas tree!
