Fort Normandeau Days

Fort Normandeau Days is a free event in Red Deer County that brings 1885 history to life through family activities, live music, and dramatic staged battles. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day, this annual celebration invites visitors to experience the vibrant culture of the Crossing. Traditional games and hands-on activities offer engaging ways for all ages to connect with the past, while live music adds energy to the historic setting. Staged battles feature black powder guns and cannons, unfolding before the crowd in a vivid display of history. Families, friends, and history enthusiasts can spend the weekend learning, playing, and sharing memorable moments together at Historic Fort Normandeau. Fort Normandeau Days is funded in part by the Government of Alberta through the Alberta Culture Days Grant, and by the Government of Canada through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage Program, Local Arts and Heritage Festivals Component.
