Ballet Jorgen presents Swan Lake in Camrose’s Central Prairies region offers a classic ballet experience with a uniquely Canadian story twist. Set against the 18th-century seascape of Nova Scotia’s Fortress of Louisbourg, this production follows Prince Siegfried, the most eligible bachelor in New France, as he falls for a young woman under the spell of the sorcerer Von Rothbart. Audiences can expect traditional ballet infused with Canadian history, stunning 18th-century costumes and Tchaikovsky’s timeless, pulse-pounding score. There will be a pre-show artist talk with Artistic Director Bent Jörgen from 6:30 p.m. – 7 p.m., offering insight into the creative vision behind the performance.
