Vermilion Provincial Park runs along the Vermilion River and offers excellent back-country hiking and biking trails that weave through aspen stands that are thick with Saskatoons. Bird watching is very popular here as both river, wetland, and forest species are present. The Park also houses a rich history of the railway line, including an old caboose that serves as 'take-a-book, leave-a-book' library in the summer months. A large, fully serviced campground is also available here, complete with a mini golf and splash park. Paddling on the reservoir is also a common activity for locals and visitors.
