Rowley Ghost Town
Rowley Ghost Town in Rowley offers summer tours of historic buildings, giving visitors a closer look at life in this Canadian Badlands village. Once home to 500 people in the 1920s, the village now has 12 residents who prefer the name “historical village.” They help maintain its garage, church, bank, store, saloon, community hall and three grain elevators, preserving a tangible connection to Rowley’s past. Summer tours offer a chance to step inside some buildings and view their artifacts and antiques. Many properties are owned by residents, so visitors should explore respectfully. On the last Saturday of each month, the community welcomes the public for pizza night—a warm taste of local life in this small Alberta village.
