During September and May the museum is open Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm. From June to August it extends its hours opening Monday to Thursday 9am to 7pm, Friday and Saturday 9am to 5pm, and Sunday 10am to 6pm. Fort vermilion heritage center preserves and portrays the history of Alberta’s north, it includes a Museum and archives, history in motion van and two heritage houses. The visitor information center is a hand sewn and dovetailed log building c.1923. Learn about fossils, natural and First Nations heritage, the fur trade, missions, life along the Peace, Farming North of 58.
