Cold Lake Provincial Park Campground

Cold Lake is one of the largest lakes in northern Alberta, so it's no surprise that Cold Lake Provincial Park offers plenty of outdoor fun. The 115 sites include those with power, power and water, and sites for walk-in tenting. Cold Lake Provincial Park Campground, which is open from mid-May to early October, also offers a group camping site. Firewood and drinking water are available, but the water is turned off in mid-September. Cold Lake offers excellent swimming and fishing. The lake is also a popular destination for power boating, water skiing, paddling and sailing. The park is home to more than 200 species of birds, so birdwatchers should keep an eye out for wood warblers, yellow rail and a large colony of western grebes. There are also plenty of trails for hiking and mountain biking to explore.
