Castor & District Museum
Castor & District Museum, located in Castor’s Central Prairies region, offers an immersive look at early 1900s prairie town life for curious visitors. Housed in the former CPR station, the main building features exhibits that recreate early shops, businesses, and family homes. Travellers can step into a dentist’s surgery, view a hospital room display, and see clothing made from cow and buffalo hide alongside local history books, maps, and photographs. Outside, a classic wood grain elevator stands beside the railway track, where restored rail cars evoke Castor’s days as a busy rail and agricultural centre. Many guests visit to trace family roots and connect with the stories of this community. The museum is open Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
