Developed for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games Nordic events, the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park remains a world-class facility. In the winter more than 65 km (37 miles) of groomed and track-set trails beckon cross-country skiers of all ability levels. In the summer, an 18-hole disc golf course, four orienteering courses, more than 100 km (62 mi) of single and double-track mountain bike and hiking trails, 6.5 km (4 mi) of paved roller ski trails, and a mountain bike skills park keep visitors busy.

Trail Sports and SkiUphill - RunUphill are teaming up for a workout Wednesday. This is a group meet up and Trail Sports is offering rental skis at 10% discount for the occasion. Weather permitting they'll start on Nov 20th and an instructor will do a 30 minute "How to Classic Ski" class (no cost) and on Nov 27th a 30 minute "How to Skate Ski" class. Trail Sports also offers lessons for both classic and skate skiing if you are looking at honing your skis, or simply getting into it. They'll do a 60-75 minute warm-up followed with beverages afterwards. No way to find a better cross-training for the cold months.
