Sailboats in the Cold Lake Marina always present the prettiest summer picture. Walking along the breakwater you might glimpse the “Legend of the Kinosoo”, the big fish that the Dene Suline believe lurks in the depths Cold Lake. The Marina provides launching access to Cold Lake. There is fuel, a pump out system, sail boat lifting mast and a fish cleaning station available for boaters. Fishing is allowed on the outside of the breakwater. Take an ice cream break after your jaunt along the lakeshore or stop for a bite to eat at any of the restaurants along the lakeshore.
The new Galloway Station Museum and Travel Centre is located in Edson, almost exactly halfway between Edmonton and Jasper. This elegant, well-equipped facility is open year-round and clearly visible and easily accessible from the Yellowhead highway. You’ll find knowledge staff and plenty of material on the local and provincial sights to see! There is also ample parking, including a bus/RV lane, a wonderful coffee bar and free wireless Internet access.

We can provide return transportation from your accommodation, instruction, lunch (on full-day trips), foul weather gear, and your National Park Angler's License.

Each year, Slave Lake hosts the Canadian Tire Angler’s Cup on Father's Day weekend. This catch and release walleye tournament accommodates as many as 150 fishing teams in a 2 day, total weight tournament. The tournament in one leg of the Western Canadian Walleye Trail. The tournament is one of the richest cash events in Canada with a total of $145,000 in prize money available. Proceeds from the event benefit the Lesser Slave Lake Regional Fire Service.
