Sporting Events Events & Festivals

A game between Calgary and Edmonton teams is always fierce. City pride is on the line. Expect painted faces and hot dogs, smug jersey-wearing fans and mayors making bets. • Rivalry: On top of NHL hockey and CFL football, catch professional lacrosse, junior hockey, and summer collegiate baseball. • World class: Check out athletes at the top of their game compete against each other and the elements during a World Cup downhill ski race in the Rockies. • Try it: The Tour of Alberta cycling road race is strictly for professionals. But the 60- and 100-kilometre Velothon offers the pro experience to amateurs.
