You don't have to be a fossil enthusiast to visit the Three Rivers Rock & Fossil Museum, but you might just become one by the time you leave. This impressive private collection of ancient stones and life forms definitely makes a lasting impression. Owner and collector Larry Dwyer will greet you personally in an expansive tree-lined yard, and then open the doors to an amazing 3,500-piece collection for you. Larry and his wife Charlotte have been collecting fossils for years, and eventually decided to turn their hobby into something the whole world could enjoy. Inside the museum you'll see incredible specimens from around the globe, all carefully categorized, labelled, and housed in exquisite display cases. It's a fascinating scene that will astound you with its depth - well worth the short drive north of Pincher Creek. On the way back to Highway 3, you'll have a spectacular view of the south cliffs of Kananaskis as a double reward.
