Dunvegan Provincial Park is less than an hour’s drive north of Grande Prairie, through the green parklands of the Peace River watershed. The park, along the northern banks of the mighty Peace River, overlooks Alberta’s only suspension bridge. Walking trails reveal spectacular views of the deeply carved valley. Wander through the historic site of a fur trade fort that dates back to the early 1800s and a catholic mission, which was established later in the 19th century. Go canoeing or boating, or hit the trails and mountain bike under huge cottonwood trees.
