When Burwood Distillery co-founder Jordan Ramey was buying a house in 2012, he felt an instant connection with his realtor Ivan Cilic. The two found they shared a passion for craft beer and craft spirits. They came together with Ivan’s brother Marko to start their own craft distillery and make the fine spirits they felt had been lacking in the local market. They have produced five unique products including Honey Eau de Vie, Cracked Green Walnut Liqueur, and a seasonal Sour Cherry Liqueur. They are barreling for aged whiskey and rye aged honey liqueur, and soon to launch their own gin. At Burwood local is a way of life. All their barley is grown and malted in Alix. Their honey comes from Ivan and Marko's dad's honeybees just outside of Chestermere and Greidanus Honey Mill in High River. They hand-crush every grain and hand-scoop every ounce of honey in their northeast Calgary facility. The tasting room offers a casual yet modern environment to enjoy the distilleries fine spirits.
