1. Watch the sun set
Catching an alpine sunset is the perfect way to transition from a fun-filled day to an evening of excitement. Grab a blanket and head down to one of Jasper’s lakes and watch the sun vanish behing the mountain peaks.
2. Go on a culinary adventure
Savour the flavours of Jasper by exploring the local restaurant scene. Sit down for a relaxing dinner for two, then go on a DIY dessert crawl. Whatever you’re in the mood for, Jasper’s dining options are sure to satisfy your culinary cravings.
3. Check out Jasper nightlife
Need we say more? Grab a pint or cocktail at one of Jasper’s local watering holes and see where the night takes you. Take a tour of a craft brewery at Jasper Brewing Company then get in a game of pool at the Athabasca Hotel.
4. Catch some live music
Jasper’s welcoming atmosphere draws musicians to play at local venues. On a Friday night, head down to the Royal Canadian Legion for open jam night. The Whistle Stop and the Athabasca Hotel also host a variety of live music performances throughout the year.
5. Attend a local event or festival
Jasper is host to many spectacular events throughout the year. In August, take in the evening competitions at the Jasper Heritage Rodeo, the only rodeo held in a Canadian national park. Attend an evening event during the week-long Jasper Dark Sky Festival in October. Get festive with Christmas in November at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Celebrate winter during Jasper in January. Or show your pride at the Jasper Pride Festival in March.
6. Night Skies
With 11,000 sq km (4,247 sq mi) to explore in Jasper National Park, on a clear night you are pretty much guaranteed stellar star gazing. A favourite spot is Pyramid Island on Pyramid Lake, just a few minute's drive from the town site. Ask the locals, they'll have plenty of suggestions. You might get lucky with an appearance by the northern lights.

7. Experience Jasper's popular attractions in the dark
Spend an evening venturing into the hottest hot springs in the Canadian Rockies or travelling up the Jasper Skytram to look at the stars. Surrounded by mountain vistas, the Miette Hot Springs are open until 11 p.m. in the summer months, while the Jasper Skytram is open until 9 p.m. On Saturday evenings in September and October, the Jasper Skytram and the Jasper Planetarium offer Star Sessions, a unique dining and stargazing experience.
8. Take some time to relax
Taking time to re-energize is key to a successful visit. Jasper is home to numerous yoga studios that offer night-time classes, including: Blue Sky Yoga at the Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre and yoga at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
