The Fort Museum of the North West Mounted Police is dedicated to preserving the history of the North West Mounted Police and the First Nations of Southern Alberta. The museum is a re-creation of the original Fort built in 1874 and is the birth place of the famous RCMP Musical Ride. The Fort is the only on-site Musical Ride in all of Canada preforming the original NWMP Musical Ride four times daily in July and August. Guided horseback trail rides from Old Entrance B 'n B Cabins near Jasper National Park. Offered from May through October, departing at 10:00 am, 2:00 pm and 6:30 pm daily. Trail rides are along the Athabasca River and into the surrounding foothills with spectacular views of the eastern slopes of the Rockies. This is a safe family activity with minimum age for children six years old. Trail Rides range from 1 hour duration to full day excursions. Reserve in advance, some late bookings may be accommodated. Trail Rides exceeding 3 hours must be reserved in advance with a minimum of four participants.
