Sports & Recreational Facilities Attractions & Entertainment

Sports facilities built for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary are central to the ongoing training of Canadian teams and Olympic hopefuls. Enjoyed by locals and visitors alike, places like the Canmore Nordic Centre (cross-country skiing and biathlon), Canada Olympic Park (ski jumping, ski school, hockey and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame), and the Olympic Oval (speed skating and still the fastest ice on the planet) are continually improved upon and rank as some of the best facilities in the western world. Every city, town and rural community has sports and recreational facilities for all activities, ages and abilities. Fitness is top of mind in Alberta.
