Gondolas & Tramways Attractions & Entertainment

A gondola or tramway ride brings you the view that mountains have of mountains. All the glory, none of the actual climbing. ● Summit: Banff’s gondola was Canada’s first when it opened in 1959 on Sulphur Mountain. The eight-minute ride over towering pines into mountain peaks is just the start. The view from the top is like being at the edge of the earth, but the start of adventure. Grab lunch then hike the boardwalk. ● Jasper: At the top of Whistlers Mountain, you’re at the centre of 360 degrees of Rocky Mountain peaks. Plan, like, an hour for photos. As if there’s a better backdrop than where the mountains meet the clouds.
