Jasper National Park National Parks

Jasper National Park has thousands of square kilometres of practically untouched alpine wilderness. It’s glorious if you’re into wildlife, exploring mountains, and other spectacular kinds of stuff. ● Try it: Ever hear of canyoning? It’s where you literally descend sheer canyon walls. Many ropes are involved, and even more adrenaline. Get a guide if you're a noob. ● Summer lovin’: Take a boat cruise on Moraine Lake, hike through the Athabasca River valley, learn to ride a horse, and look up at night when it gets very dark. You’re in love. ● Snow Worshippers: Winter here is rad. Ski or snowboard to your heart’s content either vertically or horizontally.

Jasper Park Information Centre National Historic Site

Jasper, Alberta
TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:

Reviews

The Jasper Park Information Centre, built in 1913-14, is one of the earliest and finest examples of rustic design in the national parks. Designed by Edmonton architect A. M. Calderon, the Jasper Park Information Centre was intended to serve as a landmark and focal point for the town. Built in the rustic design tradition utilising locally quarried stone and timber, the building set a design example for subsequent construction within the town. This vision of a unified architectural theme within the park was novel when first expressed by S. Maynard Rogers, Jasper’s first park superintendent.
