Overview

Located along the creek that gives Pincher Creek its name, the Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village is open year round. Hours vary from summer to winter months. In Pioneer Place, you will find a Visitor Information Centre, an extensive archives and The Country Store which carries local and Canadian products, country and vintage themes items and an impressive local book section. The Museum Village sits on six acres with 26 authentic historical buildings full of over 25,000 artifacts which gives an up-close and personal experience of our area's history. The Village experience is enhanced with beautiful gardens, picnic areas, historic rose garden and Garden Cafe open for events and snacks in the summer. Take a journey back in time with the CPR caboose, a wondrous garage right out of the 1940's, and Waldron Ranch House where all the ranch hands would have once been housed. The newest addition, in honor of Canada's 150th anniversary, is a replica of the Hudson's Bay Trading Post and exhibit, will be open this winter. Host to many events throughout the year, as well as kids' programs and Geneology and writing clubs, there is something for everyone!
