Come celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday with live entertainment and a barbecue dinner at the Brewster Dance Barn in upper Lake Louise. Built in honor of Brewster cowboys for over 100 years, the Dance Barn provides authentic Western atmosphere and entertainment. The Brewster “Hip of Beef,” the family specialty, is Alberta Beef rolled and aged especially for our barbecues. Prepared in large barbecue ovens and basted in natural juices, the roasts are custom carved for each guest in our buffet serving lines. A highlight is seeing the meat transported by ‘pitch fork’ to the buffet tables. Two options are available. A two-hour Destination trail ride to the end of Lake Louise and back, or a short horse-drawn wagon ride to the Dance Barn. Dinner menu includes “hip of beef”, baked potatoes with butter, sour cream, chives and bacon bits, baked beans served in cast iron pots, tossed salad, crusty rolls and home baked strawberry rhubarb pie. All the ‘fixings’, including tea and coffee. A cash bar service is provided for beer, hi balls, wine, pop, juice and water. Country and Rock Band will fill the evening with line dancing and lots of fun for all ages.
The natural beauty, heritage, and culture of Banff & Lake Louise make for a fantastic setting to experience Canada Day on July 1. There is no better way to celebrate than being amongst the mountains and lakes that have defined images of Canada around the world. Begin your day by devouring a pile of pancakes and maple syrup at the annual pancake breakfast. Stomach full, make yourself comfortable in Central Park as local musicians and cultural performances fill the valley with sound from noon until late. During the intermission, take in the colour and energy of the famous Canada Day parade down Banff Avenue, before settling into the park again for the remainder of the evening performances. The celebrations come to a grand finale with a spectacular fireworks display. Watching the sunset and fireworks illuminate the valley and mountains surrounding Banff is a magical event not to be missed. Plan a day full of activities celebrating Canada's 150th Birthday by visiting the Banff Canada Day Event Schedule.
