This isn't your normal day tour of Banff National Park. Because this is a photography workshop, you will get plenty of time in each location to compose and capture images without being rushed. We will spend most of the day outside taking photos. Plus, we'll be teaching the whole group general photographic concepts, having a longer time at each location means more personalised teaching time for each attendee. Lakes, glaciers, babbling creeks, pristine woodland, snow-capped landscapes, and of course, the unmatched beauty of the mountains. Banff National Park offers more than we could ever possibly show you in a day, but we can't wait to show you some of the highlights and locations you have always dreamed of seeing. Our day trip to the National Park is led by Kristin Repsher, a professional photographer based in southern Alberta. The workshop itinerary varies by season; the main thing that doesn't change is how epic the landscapes are. We'll take you to a few of the world-famous viewpoints that you've seen on Instagram, like Two Jack Lake and Castle Mountain, but we'll also take you off the beaten path to some of the locally-known gems as well. Through all of these locations, you'll receive individual photographic tuition on the technical and artistic aspects of photography (including composition and lighting) to help you get the best possible shots of your trip to Banff. We'll get an early start so we can chase the best light through the park, and we'll finish it off around 5.30pm followed by an optional group meal where we can talk about our favourite images of the day. This workshop is organised so you get to see each location in the best possible light. Lighting makes a huge difference in photography, so if a mountain's slopes are lit by the sun in the afternoon, we'll make sure to take you there at that time. Due to the long days of summer, we won't be able to take you to locations at sunrise or sunset, but our instruction will help you judge the best light if you're planning to do other photographic excursions within the park. Hope to see you soon.
