Alpine Village Resort welcomes the addition of seven new custom designed log cabins for June, 2018!  These will expand the resort's village of log cabins to a total of 55, all offering the authentic experience and type of cabin accommodation guests expect to find in the heart of the Canadian Rockies.

These new Whistler One Bedroom Cabins are constructed of fir logs and will feature an expansive living room with an open, log beamed cathedral ceiling and wood burning, fieldstone fireplace. Each will have a full kitchen, dining area and separate bedroom with a king bed. These cabins will be perfect for two guests wishing to stay long enough to unpack and settle into their own "cabin in the woods."  The Whistler One Bedroom Cabins are located in a natural, forested area of the property. This summer, guests can stay in this new style of cabin at Alpine Village, or in any other deluxe log or charming heritage cabin, all providing the perfect blend of comfort and seclusion. The seasonal, picturescque resort is located in a forested setting across from the Athabasca River, just 2.5 km south of the town of Jasper near the many activities and attractions that Jasper National Park offers.

Chris and Rena Allin, who have owned and operated Alpine Village Resort since 1986, worked diligently the last six years seeking approval from Parks Canada for this last expansion to be permitted, then proceeded to design the cabins and started their construction in 2016. Their vision and goal had always been to improve Alpine Village, striving to keep the traditional log cabin architecture and low-density layout that began in the 1940s and has provided an authentic, log cabin accommodation to guests from all over the world ever since. The land on which Alpine Village Resort is situated was acquired in 1945 with eight cabins opening in 1948. Seventy years later, and after numerous additions and renovations, the resort now consists of 55 cabins,

The Alliins are also proud to support their local Jasper builders. They contracted Mark of Mark Deagle Log Building Ltd, who was born and raised in Jasper, to build the seven log shells at his site in Hinton, AB. The fir logs were sourced from nearby Valemont, BC, hand peeled, erected in Hinton, then shipped to Alpine Village and set up on site. Other Jasper contractors are finishing the cabin roofs, interiors and decks while a local stonemason collected all the riverstone from Jasper National Park and labousily worked at the perfect placement of the stones in each wood burning, fireplace. Building log cabins is no small task and the use of other local contractors and suppliers proves that "it takes a village" to build at Alpine Village!
