The facility opened its doors on December 12, 2011.Aquatics, Fitness, Sports & MoreThe aquatics area provides entertainment for all ages with two water slides, FlowRider for simulated surfing and a colourful dinosaur-themed waterpark for children ages 12 and under. The 50-metre Competition swimming pool is approved to host Provincial, National and International swim events and patrons can participate in a range of activities for every skill level. For those looking for a more relaxing visit, the facility also offers a Lazy River, Family and Adult Hot Tubs, steam room and sauna.Overlooking the aquatics area is a full-sized athletics facility. The Fieldhouse provides courts and equipment for a variety of sports or fitness classes and has hosted the Alberta Special Olympics. Racquetball and Squash courts can be found to the East of the Fieldhouse and a four-lane, 175-metre track can be found on the third floor. The second floor hosts a large weight room, cardio equipment with flat screens and multipurpose rooms that offer space for fitness classes and community groups.Barrier Free DesignThe broad range of equipment ensures multi-generational access to the entire facility. The facility is also completely barrier free.
The JBS Canada Centre features an elaborate aquatic centre with a waterslide and wave pool, gymnasium, fitness centre, multipurpose rooms, arena and curling rink. A $22-million-dollar renovation and expansion project was completed in 2017 where a large field house was added along with a public library.

The ITU World Triathlon Series will once again be returning to Edmonton in 2018, welcoming everyone from Elite athletes to first-time participants. With a number of competitions to suit all levels of athletes. WTS Edmonton offers a welcoming environment and the chance to race the same course as Olympic and World Champions.

Blue Ridge Family Fun Day - 2018. This special, free, family focused event is held at the Blue Ridge Recreation Area just 5 kilometers outside of the hamlet of Blue Ridge.
